    Why allergy testing? Allergy testing can be an invaluable tool in the veterinarian’s diagnosis. Did you know that the leading medical problem seen in dogs in the United States is skin disease? It is estimated that allergies account for one third of those cases of skin disease. That’s a lot of unhappy dogs! The good news is most allergies can be managed! Immunotherapy is the process of introducing the problem antigen in a controlled manner to build resistance to that antigen. This process has been used for many years and has a typical success rate of 65-75% at relieving allergy symptoms and when combined with food allergy avoidance the overall success rate has been as much as 80-85%!
